La tendencia a generar aplicaciones que se puedan ejecutar de una memoria USB ha generado también una multiplicidad de sitios que aglutinan estas aplicaciones. La ventaja principal de estas aplicaciones es la facilidad de copiarla de una PC a otra o bien de llevarla consigo en una memoria USB para poderla utilizar en cualquiera otra PC.
Por ello, las unidades USB se han vuelto muy populares últimamente que usted puede hacer casi cualquier cosa con ellas. La siguiente es una buena lista que cubre la mayoría de las funciones de un ordenador común. Las aplicaciones se ejecutan fuera de las unidades USB y no requieren instalación:
